when your poem has its mask with
drawn when
guile stands silent and when
the truck of many voices
shakes the bear of wisdom this
when your poem shucks its mask
when time
begets another time as we
and as you when your poem
annuls its mask withholds &
gives
In discovering “we” the poem has to discover “you”… that alone can set the bear of wisdom free. Meanwhile, the masks.
The poem is forever in a state of unmasking as it has to draw from prose – intrinsically conforming and hence contrived – while it speaks the gut.
Shakes the bear of wisdom…so good
When we unmask our words– I think you captured the
Essence of what it feels like to write a poem perfectly.
Thanks Audra 🙂 🙂
