When you speak dissent

Doubt is never green
Doubt is never green; it
Can pose as a subtle shade

Of green, but the facade
Stops in two seconds; the

First instant you re-create
The mill of worry; in the second

You forget the question that
Raises the head of the hound.

The bull of an unwant
The bull of an unwant, the hull
Of fear, stroke of morn, hurry!
Call the vet, the cat of a million
Anchors needs play but won’t,

Can’t; the subterfuge of reason,
the stroke of morn, the hull of
Fear, hurry! the white of your
Eyes is lulled, void, seeks red.

When you speak dissent
When you speak dissent you strike a
Chord with deep, you

Mingle with the ecstatic component of
Hyperbole and reduce

It to mean, to song, when you speak
Dissent, you call the

Fire in netherworlds to answer, to respond
In repose, resplendent.

The structure of verse
i. The possibility of pain is an epistemological
boon ii. A permanent fire burns my hand,

and it sizzles iii. Deem the thread inviolable,
the threat inveterate iv. Cast a net that crowns

the sense of the ineffable v. The sensible is but an articulate corollary

The terrifying responsibility of action
The terrifying responsibility of
Action willing

Science to matter and verse to
Argument, parting

Seas into neat countables and un
Nameables, wishing

With tables, minutae, verbal and
Occular –

WOW…and I am the first to comment? Tsk…

This is my favorite line (among many, many) and cheered landing on each level of the poem.

    “You forget the question that
Raises the head of the hound”

Thanks Tammy. Felt some of my drawered poems had to be let out… Exposure and audience remain challenges in this age of hyper-marketing. Still trying to figure out how to be heard without too much of a compromise.

I understand. This platform is a strange one, based on interactivity over everything else which was the reason for my 20BelowClub, a tongue in cheek website about Wp ‘Likes” and following. That is not to say I’m a brilliant writer, I used this platform to ‘process’ as much as I used it for a creative, articulate endeavor. I do not have a contained style or theme in writing. And having adhd causes some challenges in keeping track of other writers and posts. In other words, I’m still moving through bumpy ground on WP. Some people who like my stuff don’t even read it as evident when they like 10 posts in a minute. It is unfortunate when it turns into this ‘like’ game which isn’t really trustworthy to begin with.

I do hope that you will submit your poems to professional platforms and start getting published, because you can be. Your poetry has the additional quality of science and left brainer journeys that can reach a specific audience the rest of us cannot. Please think about submitting your work.

The challenge of being heard is the same as the struggle to engage with larger themes. At some point it should all fall in place. And it falls more into place every time someone posts such a lovely comment as this one, thanks 🙂
